Also, airfares of domestic airlines remained high to several destinations across the country despite the fact that most air travelers had traveled out of Lagos for the festive season.

A source close to the international terminal told our correspondent on Thursday that the passengers of Lufthansa were not issued prior notice before the cancellation of the flight out of Lagos.

Hakeem Jimo, the media consultant to the airline in Nigeria, confirmed the cancellation of the flight but attributed it to the inability of the airline to source spare parts to replace a faulty one.

Some of the affected passengers decried that officials of the airline at the Lagos airport treated them poorly and did not follow the international standard procedures, which stipulated that in such situation, affected passengers should be booked into hotels pending when they would be transported out of the country.
