Illegal Haulage: Dangote Promises Reward in Exchange for Arrest

The management of the African Conglomerate, Dangote Group has requested the help of members of the society to assist in arresting persons engaging in illegal haulage activities with the Group’s trucks. In exchange, the company announced a monetary reward for any member of the public who offers adequate information which would amount to the arrest of such individuals by the law enforcement agents.

 

 

Dangote has informed the public of the sum of #250,000 which will be awarded to anyone who will assist in holding down drivers and destroying the illegal goods. The management also cautioned individuals who illegally transport materials in the Dangote trucks stating that such owners and drivers would face the judgment of the law.

 

Reckless Driving: Hereditary?

 

The Dangote Industries Limited issued a statement that was signed by its Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Anthony Chiejina saying: “The Management of Dangote Industries Limited wishes to solicit for the assistance of the general public in the fight to rid the organization of illegal haulage activities being perpetrated by some unscrupulous persons. In pursuit of this objective, anyone with verifiable information which will lead to the arrest of such person(s) or goods will be rewarded with the sum of N250, 000.00 (Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira Only).”

 

 

In order to make its position clear, the Group went ahead to list out products they produce which its over 10,000 trucks convey across the country and some West African countries: “Dangote Trucks are permitted to transport only the following materials: Dangote Cement Plc – Dangote Cement, Limestone, High Grade Gypsum and Coal; Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc- Dangote Sugar; Nascon Allied Industries Plc – Dangote Salt & DanQ Seasoning; Agrosacks Industries Limited – Bags; Dangote Flour Mills Plc – (Dangote Wheat, Flour and Danvita). “We hereby alert the public to report any suspected Dangote Truck driver involved in illegal haulage supported with credible evidence of such act.”

 

 

Meanwhile, the Police and other law enforcement agents have been authorized to seize any Dangote Truck driver who partakes in such activities. It also pleaded with the public to include the Truck Cab No, Truck Plate Number, Truck Type, Location of the Truck, Colour of the Truck, Contents of the Truck, the Photographs of the Truck and goods when making their reports.
